Introduction to First Aid in Arboriculture:
- Knowing the arborist's work environment and the main associated risks.Basic Principles of First Aid:
- Assessment of the scene and application of personal safety techniques.Primary Assessment and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR):
- Identification of vital signs and emergency procedures for cardiac arrest.Fracture Handling and Immobilization:
- Techniques for dealing with exposed and closed fractures in a tree climbing scenario.Bleeding Control and Use of Tourniquets:
- Effective methods to stop severe bleeding, including the correct application of tourniquets.Traumatic Brain Injury Care:
- Recognition of signs of head trauma and initial care measures.Spinal Injuries and Mobilization Care:
- Procedures for suspected spinal injury, including immobilization and transport techniques.Burns in Outdoor Environments:
- Classification of burns and specific first care for thermal, chemical and electrical burns.Hypothermia and Heat Stroke:
- Prevention, recognition and treatment of thermal emergencies.Shock and Anaphylaxis:
- Identification of different types of shock and administration of initial treatment, including the use of epinephrine.Animal Bites and Stings:
- First aid for encounters with local fauna, including snakes, spiders and insects.Tree Climbing Tool Injuries and Specific First Aid:
- Initial care for cuts and lacerations caused by saws and other cutting tools.Tree Rescue and Evacuation Techniques:
- Strategies for safely and efficiently removing an injured arborist.Communication and Coordination in Emergencies:
- Effective use of radios and other communication devices to coordinate rescue teams.Practical Simulations and Case Study:
- Practical application of knowledge in controlled scenarios, with analysis and discussion of real cases.
